How Much Do Diapers Cost?

!±8± How Much Do Diapers Cost?

When new moms start buying diapers and seeing how many they go through in such a short time, they often ask me "how many diapers am I going to need to buy? How much is this going to cost me?" After all, it does get expensive!

The answer varies, but in general you can do some simple math to calculate it: The average newborn goes through 8-10 diapers per day, let's say about 3 months. So we'll estimate that to be about 9 diapers per day, 30 days a month, 3 months for a total of 810 diapers.

As the baby gets older, let's say 3 months until 2.5 years, the kid is probably averaging 5-7 diapers per day. So doing the math, you're now talking about 6 diapers per day, 365 days per year, for 2 years for a total of 4380 more diapers!

That's a total of 5200 diapers per kid. Now let's look at the cost. If you go to the grocery store, you are probably looking at Body.30 per diaper when you buy in bulk, so that's a lifetime total of 90. That's a lot of money for something that you poop in and throw away. But don't fret, there are a few options. First, you could use cloth diapers. There are tons of resources out there for that, and if that suits you, go for it. However it's a lot of work and it's gross (in my opinion) so I choose another route. I found great diaper deals online, always name brands and with free shipping. Even shipped, I was saving over 50%, finding diapers as low as Body.14/diaper. That saves over 0 over the life of each child. So if you want to save money, check out great diaper deals online.

Pampers Commercial 2011

12 hours of overnight protection 10.9 x 17.5 x 14.6 inches 13.7 pounds www.amazon.com It must depend on your child because I tried the cruisers after always using baby dry on my son and they failed us several times. I went right back to baby dry and no more leaks. I have also tried other brands and I loved Huggies for my daughter but they don't work for my son. Funny how each is different. I am a mother of 4 and Luvs worked for my other son. You just go with what works for your child. I also have noticed that they work differently for different ages as well. Good idea to try a few out before you buy the jumbo packs. www.amazon.com
